IIFOMAS (India International Forum on Mine Action and Safety)

India International Forum on Mine Action and Safety (IIFOMAS), is an independent Indian think tank on Global Mine Action Scenario and Demilitarization of obsolete and abandoned weapons and explosive devices (DEMIL). As India’s premier think tank for mine action, IIFOMAS unites experts, government bodies, and international organizations to strategize, innovate, and implement sustainable solutions for mine clearance, community safety, and humanitarian aid.

Knowledge gained by IIFOMAS will assist in strategizing Mine Action activities across the Globe. IIFOMAS is an initiative of the Horizon Safer World Foundation (HSWF) and is driven by a team of dedicated Promoters with over two decades of experience in every aspect of Mine Action.

Col Navneet MP Mittal (Retd)
— Director General , IIFOMAS

Col. Navneet MP Mittal, is the Director General and Founder of IIFOMAS. A retired Indian Army officer with over 42 years of experience in combat, corporate, and NGO sectors, he pioneered humanitarian demining in India, founding Horizon as the country’s first organization for post-conflict environment management by Indian ex-servicemen in 2001.

Maj Gen Ajay Seth, VSM (Retd)
— Chairman IIFOMAS Board

Maj Gen Ajay Seth, VSM (Retd) was commissioned in Garhwal Rifles Regiment of Indian Army in December 1982. He has served in Op Blue Star and has done number of challenging tenures in Counter Insurgency including commanding an Infantry Battalion and Rashtriya Rifles Sector.

Eishna Mittal Coetzee

Ms. Eishna Mittal Coetzee is a seasoned finance professional with a diverse background in logistics, humanitarian aid, and sustainable energy. She has held key leadership roles in various organizations and is currently the Director of Finance and Business Development at Horizon.

Tesfazghi (Tess) Tewelde

Tesfazghi Tewelde, known as Tess, brings over 23 years of leadership in humanitarian and commercial mine action operations across Africa and the Middle East. Based in Geneva, he offers extensive expertise in strategic planning and stakeholder engagement, working closely with donors, UN agencies, national authorities, and the private sector.

Nadeem Saleem

With a master’s degree in human resources & management, Mr. Nadeem Saleem has rich professional experience of 18 years. During these years, he has worked and helped companies recruit for short and long-term projects.
