H.E. Dr.Oleksandr Polishchuk Ukraine Ambassador

Oleksandr Polishchuk was born in 1963.After graduating from high school, in 1980 started military service as a cadet at the Kyiv Higher Military Command School. He is a 1984 graduate of Kyiv Higher All-Military Command School and 1996 graduate of Academy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 1984 – 2010 – served at command and staff positions in units and subdivisions of the Armed Forces, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. After retirement from active duty in 2010 in the rank of Major-General, he held senior civil service positions in the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Office of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine. From June 2012 to July 2013, he worked as a state expert, and from April 2014 to October 2017 as the head of departments of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine. In 2018-2019, he was engaged in expert-analytical work in a non-governmental organization, as well as scientific work at the National Institute for Strategic Studies. From October 23, 2019 to July 28, 2023 — Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine. From December 2019 to July 2023 — Chairman of the Interagency Commission on the Policy of Military-Technical Cooperation and Export Control. In 2020-2022 — a member of the delegation in the Trilateral Contact Group, a representative in the working subgroup on security issues. From June 20, 2023 – appointed by the President of Ukraine as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of India. Academic rank: Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science. Military rank: Major General (retired).
